Plopp - Inflated Metal Stools

The cool new Plopp from designer Oskar Zieta is an example of form meeting function, yet how it gets to be a form is even more interesting. This stunning, toylike stool may appear at first glance like it's some sort of balloon-shaped furniture, but it's crafted using an innovative forming method where two ultra-thin steel sheets are welded together at the edges and then industrially inflated under high pressure. The result is a complex, lightweight piece that can bear your weight and last a lifetime. Very unique.
