Lumio Portable Lamp

Lumio Portable Lamp

Jennifer Castro Jennifer Castro on March 5, 2014 in Living / Lighting

Created by San Francisco-based designer Max Gunawan, the Lumio Portable Lamp is more than meets the eye. When closed, it looks like a mild mannered hardcover book and when open and activated, it resembles an ethereal, glowing folded flower. The sleek outside cover is made from lasercut wood and the "pages" of the book are comprised of durable, water-resistant translucent Tyvek material. The Lumio runs on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that charges with the included micro-USB adapter and provides power for up to eight hours. Designed to be a minimalistic solution to take and use anywhere, the Lumio features strong neodymium magnets embedded into the cover so you can affix it to any metal surface. Just keep the Lumio in "book" form tucked in your bag and open it to bring instant ambience, amazement, and illumination to any occasion.
